Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Jagath Rakshagan has said that medical tourism has gained prominence in the Country. He was speaking at an international conference on internal medicine, critical care and health technology on Friday.
The Minister said India provided expert medicinal care and attention and Tamil Nadu had been a pioneer in the blooming medical tourism. With the latest technological advancements, Tamil Nadu capital Chennai has become the best place in the country for providing the best of medical services.
He said the State Health Insurance Scheme has revolutionised the concept of health care. The Minister urged the students to develop new medical technology and invent new medicines for diseases which occur.
The US Consul General in Chennai, Andrew T Simkin has said that the visit of US PresidentBarack Obama will provide fresh impetus to Indo-US relationship. He called for exchange of information between countries on the new researches in the field of medicine.
