India's Palace on Wheels - A New Look

India’s iconic royal luxury train -The Palace on Wheels – has a new royal look with more amenities and a Royal Spa car. Dr Manjit Singh, chairman and managing director, RTDC, said that the new train is an upgraded version of the existing Palace on Wheels with on exclusive interior plan, improvised services and structural layout. This has been done taking into consideration the high-end international guests.

To provide more space, the number of cabins in a saloon has been reduced from four to three. There are 23 coaches in the train comprising of 14 saloons, one spa coach, two restaurant and a restro bar. An additional coach – the Royal Spa – has been added where guests can enjoy Ayurvedic and non-Ayurvedic massages. This year the Palace on Wheels will provide Mexican, Thai, sea food and Italian food to the guests.

The total capacity of the train is 104 pax. The itinerary for the season would be Delhi-Jaipur-Sawaimadhopur-Chittorgarh-Udaipur-Jaisalmer-Jodhpur-Bharatpur-Agra-Delhi.
